Variety: 65% Vlachiko, 5% Bekari, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon
Vineyards: From Epirus, three of her finest varieties, grown in high altitude vineyards of Zagori, Zitsa and Metsovo, 700 m above sea level.
Microclimate: Harsh winters with substantial rainfall and cool summer nights, due to high altitude and river bridges, allow grapes to ripen slowly reaching the ideal maturation, retaining acidity and fully developing the distinctive flavors and aromas of these varieties.
Vinification: Grapes are handpicked and transported in small baskets. Red vinification with indigenous yeasts tale place, with 12 months of barrel aging in French and American oak and then another twelve months inside the bottle.
Tasting notes: Ruby red colour. Aromas of red fruits, pepper, vanilla and cinnamon. Generous and intense flavor, spicy and balanced in the mouth. The distinctive presence of tannins offer this wine a long finish and a great aging potential. Serving suggestions: Lamb, game, sausages and cheese.
